General Instagram Feed Structure/Layout
When we look at Instagrams Feed structure one thing which remains constant is the Grid Layout of 3:X posts per Feed Line! It is fixed no matter where you are accessing Instagram from (Phone, Laptop etc.). There are disadvantages as well as opportunities which come with that Limitation, so, let’s see how we can optimize this information to create an amazing Instagram Feed!
Tip 1
Let’s begin with one of the most important but yet very controversial topics regarding your Instagram Feed its “Theme”. Themes cover everything from color and topic to filter or personal interest. Feeds with very CLEAR themes such as specific filters (see pics below VSCO Filters) tend to produce amazing results and fast-growing subscriber counts. However, it also comes with limitations and restrictions. Once decided on a specific theme or filter it can be very difficult to provide consistently amazing and unique posts. Also, you might get fed up with it but your followers continue to expect respective posts, consistent with your feed theme. My tip is to carefully think about whether you want to introduce a full theme or whether you want to leave yourself more space for change and inspiration. However, once decided stick to it.
Tip 2
Whether you choose a dedicated theme or a looser approach ALWAYS follow the general rule of posting at least 1,3,6 or 9 of similar images (filter, topic etc.) and be consistent with your line. As described above Instagram follows the 3:X grid layout and when sticking to the 3,6 and 9 approach (you can go on and on from there like 12, 15, 18 …) you will always produce a visually appealing theme.
